Christian County man accused of stealing military grave markers

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Christian County man is accused of stealing military grave markers.

According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, military grave markers were stolen from area cemeteries between Aug. 12 and Aug. 18.

HPD investigators found pieces of placards at a salvage yard, leading to the identification of Robert Lafon, of Pembroke, as a suspect.

Investigators received an arrest warrant and placed Lafon in custody on Aug. 27.

Lafon is charged with first-degree criminal mischief, receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more and violating graves.

Lafon was lodged at the Christian County Jail.
