Chief Justice Minton delivers State of the Judiciary Address

FRANKFORT, Ky.- Bowling Green resident and Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court, John Minton, gave his annual State of the Judiciary Address in Frankfort Friday morning.

Minton spoke to legislators about a number of important topics, including, a move to establish business courts, the work of the Civil Justice Reform Commission and how the courts are helping to address Kentucky’s opioid epidemic through the Regional Judicial Opioid Initiative and the RESTORE Initiative.

Minton also discussed jail overcrowding and how he feels more awareness needs to be brought to the escalating issue by bringing members of the court system to the table.

Minton was elected to the Kentucky Supreme Court in 2006 and became chief justice in 2008.
