Bring Your Kid to Work Day at WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Faculty and staff at Western Kentucky University got to bring a special guest into work with them on Thursday.

Thursday, April 27th is Bring Your Kid to Work Day, with events hosted all throughout the campus including learning about the human body, how to manage your finances before graduating high school and “Game On,” an exercise based activity focused on keeping the kids in shape while teaching them about the local parks in the process.

Activities included jumping rope, creating their own park and a relay race.

WKU is excited to be bringing this event back for the first time since the pandemic.

“It is just something that we do annually to give back to our faculty and staff members that work here… to give something special for their kids to do… so they can come see what their parents do, where they work and get to explore campus,” Michaela Daniel, Human Resources Specialist at WKU and the organizer of the “Game On” event says.

Daniel hosted this event in partnership with Western Kentucky’s School of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport.
