Bridge over Barren River Lake in Allen County temporarily closed

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A bridge over Barren River Lake is temporarily closed due to structural damage.

The bridge is located on HWY 98 near mile marker 8.7 in Allen County, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

For those impacted, you can find a detour in place using HWY 671 and HWY 100. KYTC says this detour may last up to two weeks as repairs are made.

The bridge deck was found to have damage in multiple locations during inspection, and the bridge was closed as a result, KYTC says. This is normally caused by age.
