Bowling Green Tourism surpasses previous year’s economic impact record

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green and Warren County area is officially reaching new heights with the latest update on its economic impact through tourism.
According to a release by the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Bowling Green and Warren County contributed $495.2 million in economic impact, and over $40 million was spent that went into state and local taxes.
The organization says this is a total greater than 2024’s record-breaking numbers, an amount that contributed to 4,020 jobs in the county.
“We’re thrilled to see continued growth in Bowling Green’s tourism sector. 2025’s numbers reflect yet another successful year for our industry,” said Sherry Murphy, executive director of the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Continued success as we have seen this year would not be possible without the strong tourism community that Bowling Green possesses. Our attractions have shown remarkable performance through strong partnerships and collaboration across our entire hospitality community. Our hotels, restaurants, attractions, event venues and local stores all play a necessary part in the tourism landscape. Each visitor experiences outstanding hospitality wherever they go, and those memorable experiences keep them coming back and spreading the word. More people are choosing Bowling Green, and that is a wonderful sign of the vitality of our tourism industry and local economy.”
The tourism organization states this shows travelers continue to enter Bowling Green for a vacation, events and as a meeting destination year after year.
The impact survey was reportedly produced for the Kentucky Tourism, Arts, and Heritage Cabinet by Tourism Economics.
“2025 was a great year for both Aviation Heritage Park and Warren County. Tourism continues to boost Bowling Green’s economy, and that steady growth would not be possible without the support of our community,” said Bob Bubnis, director of Aviation Heritage Park. “Our mission is to highlight the rich aviation history of South-Central Kentucky and give visitors one more reason to experience our city. Through special events, educational programs, and ever-changing exhibits, we aim to create a memorable experience that encourages repeat visits while reflecting the hospitality our region is known for. Attractions like ours are more than a single stop on a trip—they are part of a broader tourism experience that encourages exploration, extends stays, and supports local hotels, restaurants, shops, and other businesses. We are proud to contribute to our community’s success and look forward to supporting tourism growth for years to come.”
