Bowling Green man charged with DUI after allegedly hitting light pole

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged with driving while under the influence after allegedly knocking a light pole down.

According to a uniform citation, around 4:34 a.m. Monday, Bowling Green police responded to a reported crash on 1 Kobe Way.

Authorities say a male, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jim of Bowling Green, was standing outside of a vehicle parked in a corn field.

Police say near the scene, a light pole Jim had struck was laying across the road.

Authorities say while speaking with Jim, he progressively became “very argumentative” and began “yelling at officers on scene.” Police say during this time, Jim smelled of alcoholic beverages.

Jim was placed into custody. Authorities say he began to resist while being placed into handcuffs.

While receiving medical clearance and blood draws at a local hospital, authorities say Jim made a threat and continued yelling.

Jim was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

Jim was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, driving on a DUI-suspended license, first offense, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, second offense, menacing, resisting arrest, third-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree disorderly conduct.
