Bowling Green man arrested after alleged van theft

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is behind bars after an alleged van theft out of Meade County.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department received a call on Wednesday reporting reckless driving near 13th Avenue and Magnolia Street. The van involved had been stolen out of Meade County, authorities say.

Police say as they responded, they saw the described van turn onto Chestnut Street before it ran a red light.

Authorities say they stopped the vehicle. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Kwame Rucker of Bowling Green, was detained.

Officers say the victim stated the van is worth $34,000.

Rucker was taken into custody and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, reckless driving, disregarding traffic control device – traffic light and no operators – moped license.
