Bowling Green Junior High School hosts AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Students celebrate the last few days of Asian-American Pacific Islander Heritage Month on Monday.

Bowling Green Junior High School held an assembly which included a performance of a Chinese musical instrument, a tai ji demonstration and some cultural dances from students.

Students from many different countries including India, China, South Korea and more were represented in the performances, which are all about bringing awareness to Asian-American and Pacific Island cultures.

“It shows that we express more of our culture and to let more people know of our culture out there and just, you know, that Asians exist,” Cing Huai, an 8th grade student at BGJHS says.

The performers were excited to get to share a piece of their culture with their fellow classmates and teach them about some of their history in the process.
