Bomb squad responds after device found in donation to Goodwill in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A bomb squad responded to investigate a reported device donated to a Goodwill in Clarksville, Tennessee over the weekend.

According to a social media post by the Clarksville Police Department, officers received a 911 call around 2:38 p.m. Saturday regarding a possible explosive device found inside of a green bag donated to a Goodwill store at 2001 Needmore Road.

On Saturday afternoon, police stated the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad had taken control of the device and cleared the scene.

Authorities say the building was evacuated, and Clarksville Fire and Rescue and Montgomery County EMS additionally responded to the scene.

Any inquiries regarding the device itself should be directed to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

No additional details have been released at this time.
