Body cam video shows arrest of hockey hall of famer in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- WNKY has obtained police body cam video showing the arrest of Ed Belfour, the hall of fame hockey goalie, who was arrested in Bowling Green last month.

In the video from the Bowling Green Police Department, Belfour is seen laying down in the hallway of the Kentucky Grand Hotel, clutching a curtain rod that he’s accused of ripping out of the wall.

Throughout the rest of the video, officers are seen helping Belfour up, placing him in handcuffs and then taking him to jail.

Belfour was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and third-degree criminal mischief. He’s also accused of trying to fight a hotel employee.

Belfour issued a public apology on his company’s Twitter page the day following the arrest.

The 54-year-old is a Stanley Cup winning goalie who played for multiple NHL teams. He was inducted into the Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.
