Beshear signs laws supporting Kentucky’s military families

Military Appreciation Month

FRANKFORT, Ky. – As part of Military Appreciation Month, Governor Andy Beshear signed four bills into law that will help Kentucky’s military families.

Governor Beshear  ceremonially signed these four pieces of legislation.

Beshear says these bills will expand the Military Family Assistance Trust Fund and make it easier for military spouses to obtain occupational licenses.

Beshear makes it clear that these laws are needed and exactly the way that the commonwealth wants to serve its military members.

Beshear said, “We have asked these families to move so many times, and the military spouse shouldn’t have to pay a fee for an occupational license but they have earned in another state. Now they won’t have to.”

Also, the legislation will add seven active military license plate options.
