Bear attack leaves neighbors on edge

(WNYT) A black bear is being blamed for the killing of a miniature horse in Western Massachusetts.

Cathy and Ed Adams of Hinsdale found their horse dead on Friday.

Coyotes were feeding on the animals carcass, but evidence around the horse’s remains indicated that a bear was responsible for its death.

Several black bears had been spotted in the area prior to the horse’s death.

Neighbors are being warned to remove bird feeders and any other food sources from their yards.
