WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Battalion Chief Tim Buchanon is now deputy chief for the Warren County Fire Department System.

On Thursday, Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman and the Warren County Fiscal Court approved several countywide personnel actions, including the promotion of Buchanon.

In this new role, officials say Buchanon will oversee and coordinate “large-scale operational and administrative initiatives that strengthen public safety throughout Warren County.”

The department says Buchanon will still continue leading important organizational projects as he serves as a mentor, instructor and leader for volunteer and compensated firefighters.

Buchanon’s fire service career spans a lifetime, officials say, beginning as a volunteer firefighter at the Alvaton Fire Department before working for the Bowling Green Fire Department, where he retired as a battalion chief.

Today, officials say he remains committed to fire service through volunteering in Logan County, as well as teaching firefighters across Kentucky as a State Fire Rescue Training instructor.

“Throughout his career, Tim has built strong relationships across our county fire departments and has earned the respect of those he serves alongside. He leads by example, holds himself and others to the highest professional standards and embodies the values of integrity, service and commitment that define the fire service,” the department stated.
