Allen County authorities investigate suspected arson after home allegedly set on fire with animals inside

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Allen County first responders rescued several animals from a burning home after an individual allegedly set it on fire.

According to the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, officers responded to a possible EPO violation at a home on Maysville Road.

Officers say that the suspect allegedly threatened to burn the home and evidence shows that multiple fires were set inside the home. Officers say animals were inside the home while it was actively on fire.

The suspect was arrested by authorities and charged with second-degree arson. Authorities say additional animal cruelty charges are expected.

Authorities say the Scottsville Fire Department extinguished the fire and removed all animals from inside the home.

The investigation is ongoing.
