LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Officials say a woman has been killed and a police officer injured in a crash in central Kentucky. Lexington police said in a statement that the collision was reported around 1:30 a.m. Monday as officers responded to numerous calls of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on New Circle Road. The statement says it doesn’t appear that the police car involved in the crash had been responding to reports about the vehicle. Lexington firefighters took both drivers to a local hospital, where the 38-year-old woman was pronounced dead and the officer was in serious condition. Police were continuing to investigate.
