Djokovic ties Federer in weeks at No. 1; Gauff up to No. 38

Novak Djokovic has equaled Roger Federer’s record for the most weeks spent at No. 1 in the ATP rankings. Monday marks 310 weeks there for Djokovic. And the 33-year-old from Serbia is assured of surpassing that next week. Pete Sampras is third on the list with 286 weeks. Djokovic’s Australian Open championship last month gave him 18 Grand Slam singles trophies. Only Federer and Nadal have more. Both have 20 major titles. Daniil Medvedev can overtake Nadal for No. 2 in the rankings by reaching the final of this week’s hard-court tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands. On the women’s side, American teenager Coco Gauff rose from No. 52 to a career-best No. 38 by making it to the semifinals at the Adelaide International after going through qualifying.
