First certified build-ready site in Morgantown to attract companies
MORGANTOWN, Ky.- On Wednesday, South Central Kentucky Economic Development announced Morgantown and Butler County’s first certified build-ready site.
The 9.5 acre site is located in Lot 1 of the Morgantown Industrial Park. It features a grated pad that will hold a 50,000 square foot building, with the ability to expand.
Morgantown has seen an increased growth in their manufacturing industry, at a rate of 7.7% per year compared to the national average of 1%.
These sites are designed specifically with most of the background work already completed, leaving companies to complete their construction in a short time frame.
“The fact that it’s graded too really makes up time. The companies we work with these days are both looking to minimize risks and to move into the market quickly and by having it grated and certified it probably saves them 90 days and a lot of different risks that they otherwise would’ve had,” said Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Ron Bunch.
Bunch said as they have parties interested in the South Central Kentucky region, they will submit sites for the projects. He said this site has been submitted several times so far.
