Sam Burns holds his own on a tough, windy day at Riviera

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sam Burns held his own against a raging wind at Riviera that caused a four-hour delay. But the third round of the Genesis Invitational was stopped by darkness at just the right time. Burns had back-to-back bogeys and was at 10-under par. Those bogeys took him from a five-shot lead to a two-shot lead over Matt Fitzpatrick. The wild day belonged to Fitzpatrick. He had 10 straight holes without a par — six birdies, four bogeys. He was through 17 holes. Dustin Johnson was among those three shots behind. The round was to be completed Sunday morning.
