Verizon makes deal to purchase Bluegrass Cellular
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Verizon Communications Incorporated announcing that it has signed an agreement to acquire certain assets of Bluegrass Cellular, a rural wireless operator serving much of the viewing area.
Bluegrass Cellular provides wireless service to over 200,000 customers in 34 counties in rural service areas in Kentucky.
Bluegrass Cellular launched the first wireless company in central Kentucky 29 years ago.
Bluegrass customers do not need to take any action at this time.
Customers will receive information on what they can expect including wireless data services delivered on a 4G high-speed wireless broadband network.
The purchase is expected to be made official in the next few months.
