Traveling zoo stolen in BG, recovered in Somerset after man enters restaurant carrying baby kangaroo
A traveling zoo was stolen Saturday from the Panera parking lot.
The SUV was carrying a baby kangaroo, bearded dragon, armadillo, a skink, silky chicken, a hedgehog and a tortoise, Bowling Green Police Department spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said.
The stolen vehicle was recovered Sunday afternoon in Somerset along with all of the animals except the kangaroo after police there were called when a man entered a restaurant carrying the baby kangaroo, Ward said.
Police later recovered the kangaroo. The thief has not yet been arrested, Ward said.
No other information was immediately available Sunday afternoon.
