SMITHS GROVE, Ky.- A Smiths Grove woman who shot and injured her boyfriend after a dispute over a thermostat has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris Cohron told WNKY that Candy Moss, 53, was sentenced Monday in a Warren County courtroom by Judge Steve Wilson.
Moss had previously entered a guilty plea on a charge of first-degree assault.
The shooting occurred at a home in the 800 block of College Street in Smiths Grove in the early morning hours of Nov. 29, 2018.
Moss shot Steve Flynn after a two-week-long argument over a thermostat in the residence. The couple had been together for three years.
Flynn was shot multiple times with a 38-caliber revolver. He survived the shooting.
