Authorities respond to crash, gunshot victim flown for treatment in Christian County

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision with possible injuries at Exit 9 on Interstate 169 just after midnight Tuesday.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they were notified that 23-year-old Carlos Chester Jr., of Hopkinsville, arrived at a local hospital with two gunshot wounds, one in his knee and the second in his back.

Deputies located a truck in the northbound median. The truck had at least four bullet holes in the driver’s door, according to police.

CCSO says the man was flown to a Nashville hospital for continued treatment.

The roadway was closed for investigation of the crash and the shooting.
