Bowling Green man charged with fleeing police in vehicle

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing charges after allegedly traveling an estimate of over 100 miles per hour on Sunday.

According to a uniform citation, on Sunday morning, a Bowling Green officer was traveling northbound on the 2200 block of Louisville Road.

Authorities say they observed a vehicle speeding and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

However, police say the vehicle failed to stop. Officers say it was reported an individual had fled another area in the same make and model of vehicle.

Authorities say the subject was identified as 22-year-old Nelson Puntos-Navarro of Bowling Green.

Officers say they responded to Puntos-Navarro’s residence, where they located the vehicle parked nearby.

Authorities say they made contact with Nelson at the residence door before he was detained.

Nelson was then placed into custody and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of second-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and reckless driving.
