Glasgow mayoral candidate arrested on assault charge

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Glasgow mayoral candidate is facing an assault charge in Bowling Green.

According to a uniform citation, on Wednesday, Sept. 16, Bowling Green police responded to a reported disturbance off of East Main Avenue. Police say the caller stated they had been riding in the back of a vehicle when an argument occurred regarding a phone.

Authorities say the caller stated the driver, 51-year-old Bobby Miller of Glasgow, began “grabbing” the caller, trying to take a cell phone.

According to police, the caller stated Miller struck them in the face.

Authorities say two red marks were visible on the caller’s arm.

According to police, Miller stated he “did not intentionally assault” the caller.

Miller was placed into custody and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail. He has since been released.

He faces one charge of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), minor injury.

According to a report by Glasgow News 1, Miller is a candidate running for the position of Glasgow mayor.
