Caverna Independent Schools investigating grooming allegations against substitute teacher

CAVE CITY, Ky. – The Caverna Independent School District is investigating allegations of grooming.
According to a statement released by superintendent Amanda Abell, the district is investigating allegations of grooming of a student by a substitute teacher.
Abell says the district notified the Cave City Police Department and Child Protective Services after receiving the report.
The substitute teacher was removed from the district’s substitute teacher list and “will not be permitted to serve in our schools while this matter is addressed,” according to the statement.
“We are committed to cooperating fully with law enforcement and child protection authorities throughout their investigation. Because this is an active matter involving student safety, we must respect the investigative process and protect the privacy of those involved,” said Abell.
