“Iconic” Cadiz Restaurant damaged in fire

CADIZ, Ky. – A fire damaged an iconic Cadiz restaurant Monday night.
According to WKDZ Radio, the Cadiz Fire Department (CFD) responded at 8 pm to a reported fire at the Cadiz Restaurant.
Officials say firefighters accessed the top floor of the third-story structure to extinguish the blaze.
A long-time employee told WKDZ that customers and employees safely exited the restaurant.
WKDZ reports that a grill cook who attempted to put out the fire was treated for smoke inhalation.
CFD says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Cadiz Restaurant has been open for over six decades and is the oldest operating restaurant in Cadiz, according to WKDZ.
