2 dead after vehicle hits embankment in Hancock County

Hawesville, Ky. – Two people are dead following a crash Saturday in Hancock County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, on Saturday, Aug. 8, troopers were requested to investigate a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of KY 271 and Hilldale Road.

Authorities say the investigation revealed a vehicle left the road before hitting an embankment.

Troopers say the Hancock County coroner pronounced 23-year-old Sean Woosley of Hawesville and 25-year-old Joshua Wood of Lewisport dead at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
