Goodwill Kentucky opens applications for trades pathway program in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Goodwill Kentucky says it is accepting applications for its next Construction and Skilled Trades Pathway Cohort in Bowling Green.

According to Goodwill Kentucky, the program provides local job seekers with free, hands-on training for in-demand careers in the skilled trades.

The six-day program, held at the Bowling Green Opportunity Center at 1806 U.S. 31-W Bypass, prepares participants for entry-level positions in construction and trades. Participants earn an OSHA-10 or a Procore industry credential, receive resume and interview coaching and connect with local employer partners for potential job opportunities, organizers say.

The curriculum was developed with direct employer input to meet current workforce needs, according to Goodwill Kentucky.

Partners for the cohort include Scott, Murphy, & Daniel, Stewart Richey Service Group, Reynolds Sealing & Striping, Portables General Contractors and Builders by Design. Reynolds Sealing & Striping, Portables General Contractors and Builders by Design do not currently have hiring needs but will be speaking with the class to highlight future job opportunities and career pathways.

The application deadline is Monday, Aug. 10. The cohort runs Aug. 17–26, with classes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by an employer interview day on Aug. 27. Interested parties are encouraged to call the Bowling Green Opportunity Center at (270) 781-4930 for more information.

This cohort is made possible through an investment from UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kentucky, supporting workforce development and expanding access to career pathways in the region.
