Hart County Animal Shelter named ‘Best of Kentucky’ in Pets & Animals category

HART COUNTY, Ky. – The Hart County Animal Shelter has been named a “Best of Kentucky” award winner in the 2026 Best of Kentucky Pets & Animals category.

That’s according to the Hart County Chamber of Commerce on Friday. The chamber says Best of Kentucky is a yearly recognition of the best products and services from across Kentucky.

Throughout the year, readers of “The Guide to Kentucky” vote on what they believe are the best services. Hart County Animal Shelter is now among those results for 2026.

The chamber says a visit to the shelter is enough to know why the team has earned this honor. From the care the shelter provides to social media campaigns it runs, the chamber says its business is top notch.

The news follows after strong winds during severe weather caused damage at the shelter last week. Staff members rushed to the facility to begin repair, and the Hart County Fiscal Court confirmed no animals were injured.
