Over a dozen animals seized from house where child was found dead in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Allen County- Scottsville Criminal Investigation Unit says over a dozen animals have been seized from the same home where a child was found dead earlier this week.

According to police, on Friday morning, Allen County Animal Control responded to the home on Cottage Drive. A total of three dogs, 12 cats and a possum were removed from the home, authorities say. Detective confirm this is the same home as that of 1-year-old Mason Moulding, who was located dead on Monday.

As a result of the child’s death, 22-year-old Alexandrae Price and 22-year-old Deavan Williams have been charged with first-degree criminal abuse (child 12 or under).

Authorities say most of the animals had such severe signs of neglect and are in such poor condition that humane euthanasia is necessary.

Police say based on the evidence developed during this investigation, animal cruelty charges are expected.

In addition, multiple agencies are working together to address the welfare and placement needs of other vulnerable individuals associated with the residence.

Authorities say they cannot further discuss those efforts in detail, however, those vulnerable individuals are a priority.

“We understand the community wants immediate answers and action. Unfortunately, thorough investigations take time. We ask for your continued patience as we work to ensure every victim is protected and every person responsible is held accountable,” the Scottsville Police Department stated.

Authorities say they are grateful for the assistance of community partners, especially Allen County Animal Control, as well as continued support of those who have come forward with information.
