Gov. Andy Beshear to discuss new book at The Capitol in Bowling Green

Wcpl Gov Beshear Book

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) — Warren County Public Library announced it will host Gov. Andy Beshear on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at The Capitol, according to a release from the library.

Beshear will discuss his soon-to-be-released book, “Go and Do Likewise: How We Heal a Broken Country.” The first 500 attendees will receive a free copy.

The book, set to be released Sept. 22, takes its title from the biblical story of the Good Samaritan. In the story, Jesus tells of a Samaritan who is despised by others but stops to help a stranger in great need.

According to the release, Beshear plans to discuss the role faith has played in his life, his family and his approach to public service. He will also speak about the ways he has seen religion used for political gain.

Beshear is the grandson of a Baptist lay minister and the son of a former governor. Before being elected governor in 2019, Beshear served as Kentucky’s attorney general from 2016 to 2019.

The event is free, but a ticket is required. To reserve tickets or for more information, visit warrenpl.org or call 270-781-4882.
