Bowling Green man arrested on drug charges after being found unconscious inside vehicle

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing drug charges in Logan County.

According to the Russellville Police Department, officers located 44-year-old Jason Wheat, who appeared to be unconscious inside a vehicle on Bluegrass Avenue Tuesday.

Officers say that during the investigation, a “large amount” of suspected methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, and a scale were located.

Wheat was arrested and lodged at the Logan County Jail. He is charged with trafficking first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance ( < 2 grams of methamphetamine, first offense), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, first offense), drug paraphernalia buy/possess and public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

The investigation is ongoing.
