GLASGOW, Ky. (Glasgow News 1) – Drivers heading through Glasgow this weekend should be prepared for overnight lane closures and delays on Happy Valley Road, according to a report by Glasgow News 1.
The report states a safety project is occurring along Happy Valley Road.
Glasgow News 1 says transportation officials are warning drivers to expect lane closures between the 0.4-mile marker and 1.4-mile marker starting Sunday night while crews are expected to begin resurfacing part of the road,.
Drivers are encouraged to drive cautiously and watch for crews, along with planning ahead for extra travel time, the report states.
The work is just one part of a larger safety effort across around nine miles of the KY 90 Happy Valley Road corridor, according to Glasgow News 1.
The report further states the project extends from Sanders Street at the 0.2-mile marker to the U.S. 68 Veterans Outer Loop at around the 8.5-mile marker.
Officials say the improvements are aiming to “make the corridor safer and more efficient,” Glasgow News 1 states.
The project is expected to be complete later this year, pending weather and construction conditions.
