Fire crews battle suspected arson fire in Cave City

Cave City, Ky.- According to a Facebook post from the Cave City Fire Department, units were dispatched at 5:42 pm to a reported structure fire.

The post states that information was provided to 911 dispatch by the caller, who claimed a domestic dispute took place between them and the homeowner’s former girlfriend. During the dispute, the caller says the former girlfriend allegedly set the residence on fire.

Upon arrival at the scene, fire crews found the structure engulfed in flames and quickly began an aggressive fire attack, working to contain the fire and prevent further damage.

The incident remains under investigation by law enforcement and fire officials. The post additionally states the circumstances leading up to the fire is based on the initial 911 report and has not been independently verified by the Cave City Fire Department
