Units respond to mobile home fire in Rockcastle County

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. – First responders were on scene of a reported structure fire in Mount Vernon on Wednesday.

According to the Brodhead Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched as mutual aid with the Mount Vernon Fire Department for a possible fire on Horse Shoe Bend Road.

Upon arrival, crews say they located a mobile home that had collapsed after catching fire overnight.

The structure was fully engulfed before the fire was reported, first responders say. Firefighters say they worked to extinguish remaining hot spots.
