BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green community is recognizing its growth and a major milestone with a new addition.

The Club at Olde Stone neighborhood is celebrating 20 years in the community and has unveiled a new United States flag at its entrance.

Olde Stone unveiled a new 30-foot-by-50-foot American flag that will fly on a 130-foot flagpole at its entrance on Scottsville Road, across from Phil Moore Park.

Founder and owner James “Scotty” Scott says the flag brings out the community’s spirit and its continued commitment to beautifying Warren County.

“Oh, well, I’m a big patriotic person. And I think the flags that we have here in Bowling Green are so great. And Johnny Webb is really promoted that he’s one talked me into having his flag here and I’m so glad he did,” said Scott.

Former Bowling Green mayor and Beautifi-65 advocate Johnny Webb was also honored with the Bronze Good Citizen by The National Society of the American Sons of the Revolution at the ceremony.

Webb says planning is underway to unveil three new flags across the community, including the Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Warren County Public Schools Impact Center and the Western Kentucky University L.D. Brown Ag Expo Center.

Scott says motorists are enjoying the new flag and what it brings to the community.

“Let me tell you, we sat here yesterday putting the flag up for the people that come by and they give us a thumbs up and going both ways,” said Scott.
