Warren County Public Library kicks off Summer Reading Program

BOWLING GREEN, Ky – The Warren County Public Library kicked off its Summer Reading Program on Thursday with a day of family-friendly activities at Ephram White Park.
The event featured inflatables, a petting zoo, games and booths from local organizations across the community.
Families had the opportunity to learn more about the library’s Summer Reading Program and the educational activities available to children during summer break.
Library leaders say the program is designed to encourage children to continue reading, learning and exploring new ideas while school is out of session.
“This is a great family initiative that helps educate families as a whole,” said Paige Hargett, Warren County district outreach coordinator. “It shows that you can play to learn, be outside and still be learning, and that reading, literacy and even math can be incorporated into everyday activities.”
Organizers say the Summer Reading Program offers children opportunities to stay engaged academically throughout the summer while participating in fun and interactive activities.
