Felon arrested after allegedly firing pistol in Todd County neighborhood

GUTHRIE, Ky. – A Guthrie man is facing charges following a shots-fired incident.
According to a uniform citation, the Guthrie Police Department responded to 25 Green Acres Circle after witnesses at the scene said they heard up to 15 shots fired at a neighboring home.
Officers located 50-year-old Ernest Woodson, of Guthrie, who was sitting in his vehicle. Officers believe Woodson was under the influence.
Woodson did not comply, and officers eventually removed him from the vehicle, according to the citation.
Officers obtained a search warrant for Woodson’s vehicle and found a pistol where Woodson was sitting.
During a search, officers located suspected marijuana in Woodson’s jacket and in a jar in the vehicle.
Dispatch told officers Woodson had felony convictions in Tennessee.
Another witness told police “she seen the muzzle flashes of the firearm pointing in the direction of the house where the officer spoke with the first three witnesses,” according to the citation.
Woodson was arrested and transported to the Todd County Jail. He is charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place (1st & 2nd offense), second-degree disorderly conduct, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and first-degree wanton endangerment – discharge of firearm.
The investigation is ongoing.
