WKU celebrates Black History Month with gospel concert

BOWLING GREEN, Ky-It’s a month of celebrations and Wednesday night, Western Kentucky University welcomed Le’Andria Johnson to the stage as part of a gospel concert.

Johnson’s rise to stardom took a less-than conventional route. She was the winner of the third season of Sunday Best on BET. Since then, she has been performing around the country.

Johnson says she enjoys performing but events during Black History Month are even more special. She says to her, Black History Month is year-round and that every ethnicity is part of it.
