1 dead after commercial vehicle crash in Barren County

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – One person is dead after a reported collision in Barren County Friday morning.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers received a call just after 5 a.m. to respond to a fatal collision at the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Flint Knob Road.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation found a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Timothy Parson of Glasgow was traveling west on Happy Valley Road when Parson’s vehicle crossed the center line.

Troopers say Parson’s vehicle then collided with a commercial vehicle driven by 32-year-old Rayen Hicks of Sellersburg, Indiana.

Parson was pronounced dead on scene by the Barren County coroner.

The investigation is ongoing. Troopers were assisted by he Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren County Coroner’s Office and Barren County EMS.
