Gra-Tac holds ribbon cutting to celebrate 50th anniversary of service
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A longtime heating and cooling company is celebrating 50 years of service to the community.
Gra-Tac was founded in 1976 by John Graff and Charley Tackett. The two originally built air conditioners, before deciding to focus on installing them.
Since then, the company has served several counties across the region, including Warren, Simpson and Barren.
Now, the next generation is taking over, as John’s son continues the family business and its legacy.
“I started at 13 years old working with him, sizing houses, designing the ductwork for new houses… went to trade school here in town with Terrell Murphy as the instructor… learn the trade from riding with our technicians, my dad and with Terrell,” Keith Graff, owner of Gra-Tac Heating and Cooling, says.
Keith also told us both John and Charley will be moving back to Bowling Green soon, and they’ll hold a special party to celebrate this huge milestone.
