Volunteers of the Year nominations accepted by Community Education
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Volunteers in Action, a coalition of representatives from agencies and organizations that rely on volunteer service, is now accepting nominations.
For 35 years, Community Education has highlighted and honored volunteers for their service to the community.
Choosing volunteers to be awarded in categories like the team spirit award, rising star and young leader award to shine a light on the nominees and to say thank you.
Joshua Smith, the interim director at Community Education, tells us, “Instead of just recognizing one person, maybe it’s a group of individuals. It could be a church. It can be an agency. It could be a business that comes alongside you and supports what you do in the community.”
Showcasing the dedication that’s given by volunteers is the ultimate goal, especially when they expect nothing in return.
Smith also says, “it’s interesting every year you think this can’t be beat. And yet every year, what people are doing, how they give back to the community, the causes that are obviously near and dear to them. To do the work and has nothing back.”
Nominations are being accepted right now, for more information click here.
