Frozen food recall expands to products sold in Kroger, Trader Joe’s for concerns of glass

WASHINGTON – A frozen food recall has expanded after concerns about products containing glass, including those sold in Kroger and Trader Joe’s.
According to an announcement Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. is expanding its Feb. 19 recall of frozen chicken products that may be contaminated with glass.
The USDA says almost an additional 33.6 million pounds of chicken and pork fried rice, ramen and dumpling products are impacted by the recall.
The full product list can be viewed here, with the expansion involving 16 products under brand names Ajinomoto, Kroger, Ling Ling, Tai Pei and Trader Joe’s.
The products have best-by dates ranging from February 28, 2026, through August 19, 2027, health officials say.
According to the USDA, there were multiple consumer complaints involving glass being found in the products, leading to an investigation that found carrots were likely the source of the contamination.
There have been no confirmed injuries at this time, health officials say.
The USDA advises those who are concerned of a possible injury to contact a healthcare provider.
