Spartan football’s Butler signs NLI with Morehead State University
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Wednesday evening over at South Warren High School, football lineman Malik Butler signed his letter of intent to play at Morehead State University
Butler put pen to paper in front of family, friends and coaches, finalizing his next playing stop with the Eagles.
The 2025 Class 6A Lineman of the Year spent the final two seasons of his high school career playing at South Warren under head coach Brandon Smith after beginning at Franklin-Simpson.
As a Spartan, Butler tallied 55 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss and four sacks, numbers that will make most offensive players intimidated.
The soon to be Eagle shared his mentality heading into the newest chapter of his career.
“ You’re up there for two things: education and football. Make the main goal, the main goal,” Butler said.
“Don’t get caught up in the outside noise, just locked in, stay focused. Obviously, you want to go bigger, but locked in, stay focused and be humble.”
