Kentucky State Police honors fallen troops for the holidays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police Post 03 honored our fallen troopers on Monday, placing a wreath by each of their graves.

Each wreath was placed in a different cemetery throughout the area, including:

  • Patrolman James P. Hays of the Cave City Cemetery.
  • Patrolman Robert Rowland of the Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
  • Trooper Walter Thurtell of the Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville.
  • Directive Darrell Phelps of the Union Cemetery in Morgantown.
  • Lt. William Smith of the Fair Cemetery in Bowling Green.

KSP Post 03 public affairs officer trooper Katan Parker said, “These troopers may be gone, but we will always honor them.”
