Warren County Public Schools hosts ‘Grow Your Own’ signing day ceremony
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Public Schools held a Grow Your Own signing day, a partnership with WKU to help current educators advance in their careers.
The program gives Warren County teachers and staff the opportunity to earn certifications to become administrators or special education teachers.
The reception at Warren Central High School let participants make it official, signing their intent to pursue those certifications.
We spoke with two staff members, one in each track, about what this opportunity means for their future in WCPS.
“It means I can go further from where I am… classified to certified… and you never know, I may end up becoming a new Mr. Clayton,” Rich Pond Elementary Family Resource Coordinator Speciose Nylramana says.
“I’m extremely blessed to have my district believe in me as a leader as well… and I think it being in the classroom helps me see how I can help students grow, and then becoming with the admin team to continue the growth that our district has had. It means a lot to me,” Megan Ashby, a 5th grade writing teacher at Jennings Creek Elementary School, says.
