Troopers arrest 3 in alleged kidnapping case involving Kentucky child

HART COUNTY, Ky. – Three people are behind bars after an alleged kidnapping case that led authorities to Hart County.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police received a call just before 1 p.m. Saturday from Louisville Metro police advising 40-year-old Michael Reynolds of Magnolia and 58-year-old David Fields of Magnolia traveled to Louisville, where police say they forcefully took a child and brought her back to Hart County.
Authorities say both men unlawfully entered the home of the child and the child’s mother before David Fields struck the child’s mother and removed the child from the home.
Authorities say the men then met with 66-year-old Shirlie Fields of Magnolia, a relative of the child, in the middle of Highway 357 and gave the child to Shirlie Fields.
Troopers say they responded and spoke to Shirlie Fields, who stated she had picked the child up from both men. Authorities say Shirlie Fields was aware the men had taken the child from Louisville.
The child was recovered on scene by a trooper.
Reynolds was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.
Reynolds is charged with custodial interference (complicity), along with a warrant out of Louisville that includes charges of kidnapping of a minor, first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury).
In addition, David Fields and Shirlie Fields were placed under arrest.
David Fields is charged on a warrant with first-degree burglary, kidnapping of a minor and fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury). Shirlie Fields is charged with custodial interference and failure to use child restraint device in a vehicle.
Both also remain at the Hart County Jail.
