BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing an increased charge following a death resulting from an altercation outside of an area bar.

According to court records, 37-year-old Timmy Ray Cowles is now facing a charge of second-degree manslaughter following a death that occurred after an altercation outside of Dolphie’s Lounge in February.

Cowles was originally charged with reckless homicide.

Court documents state Cowles’ updated charge was issued on July 30 following an indictment.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, 42-year-old Bradley Bunger died due to injuries sustained during an altercation that occurred on Feb. 22.

Police say witnesses and video evidence revealed both Bunger and Cowles arguing in the doorway of the bar. Authorities say during this time, Cowles is shown punching Bunger, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

A couple of days later, authorities confirmed Bunger died.

Cowles was released from the Warren County Regional Jail in March on a $25,000 cash bond. He is scheduled for arraignment on Sept. 2.

News 40 will provide additional information as it is released.
