WASHINGTON – Some brands of ham salad products has been recalled for a possible listeria risk.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service stated Monday that the products contain breadcrumbs that have been recalled by Newly Weds Foods from concerns of listeria.

The recalled products include 12-ounce plastic tubs of Reser’s Fine Foods Ham Salad with a sell by date of Sept. 01, 2025, along with 5-pound plastic tubs of Molly’s Kitchen Ham Salad with sell by dates of Aug. 31, 2025.

Officials say there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses at this time.

The USDA says listeria can cause listeriosis, a particularly serious infection for older adults, those with weakened immune systems, pregnant women and newborns.

Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. In addition, in pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn, according to the USDA.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to eat them.
