Indiana man charged with DUI in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An Indiana man has been arrested on multiple charges in Bowling Green, including driving under the influence.
According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police was advised Saturday that a vehicle was taken from Lexington.
Troopers say it was reported the vehicle was taken without permission and that the driver was possibly intoxicated.
Authorities say they observed a vehicle matching the description on Interstate 65 south around the 34-mile marker.
According to troopers say the vehicle was traveling 53 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone.
During a traffic stop, authorities say they detected the odor of alcoholic beverages on the driver’s breath. Standard Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, authorities say.
The driver, 55-year-old Paul Hayden of Newburgh, Indiana, was detained. Officials say his preliminary breath test measured at .173.
In the side door of the vehicle, authorities say they found an empty Fireball shooter.
Hayden was arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.
Hayden is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first offense, driving too slow for traffic conditions/minimum speed and possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited.
